National leader in rust control

As beautiful as the salt water which almost completely sur-rounds Nova Scotia is, living in this type of environment is rough on cars and, unless the car body has been properly protected, sooner or later little rust spots are going to appear.
Krown Rust Control is one of Cana-da's leading rust control companies. Its non-evaporating petroleum-based prod-uct displaces water wherever it's sprayed on metal or painted surfaces, including the car's electrical system, displacing moisture, and creating a corrosion-fighting barrier.
"Our product is second to none," says Pierre Legere, the owner-dealer for Krown Rust Control in Halifax. "One of our contracts is with the Department of National Defence and, if there's any organisation that has stringent envi-ronmental controls, it's that department.
"We've had a long-standing relation-ship with them so anything you see on the road that's DND, it's protected by Krown. We also do a large number of fleets for corporate clients.
"If you looked at the MSDS sheets for our product, you wouldn't find one hazardous ingredient; we have an abso-lutely clear MSDS sheet."
For the first few years of a car's life, Legere says, rust is generally not a wor-ry. However, spraying the car with Krown's T-40 protects the electrical system of the car and acts as a lubricant to help keep brake cable supple and power windows and locks acting smoothly.

"You'll usually drive your car for a couple of years before there are any visible signs of corrosion but, here in
Nova Scotia, it's the condensation that's the killer."
Because Krown serves the after-purchase market, each shop is furnished with schematic drawings of all cars and trucks on the market.
Technicians are instructed on any changes in the vehicle's designs so that they are able to spray every crack and crevice of the vehicle's body and also know where to drill, if required.
"We bring our technicians in once a year and bring them up to date on all the latest makes and models, telling them where all the enclosed areas are located on the vehicles, and letting them know the specific areas that they need to pay attention to on each model."

"We can also apply the product in any weather," Legere says. "For example, in the winter time, in the time it takes you to drive from your home to the shop, some condensation will have built up in the wheel wells. When we spray, our oil displaces the water so there's no con-densation left on the frame.
"We also have locked in pricing across the country so you'll pay the same price, $109.99 in Halifax, as you will in Edmonton or Vancouver. We also have a policy that we will re-spray an area after a repair.
"For example, if you are in a collision and you have to have your fender replaced, then all you have to do is come in and we'll re-spray that part of the car at no charge."
